POINT3 B CORP IMPACT REPORT | AUGUST 2024

B Corp Impact Report

Introduction

At POINT3, we are committed to promoting social inclusion through the human skills training that we deliver to meet our wider mission, and this is why we have aligned ourselves with the B Corp movement.

We have been B Corp certified since January 2023 and here is our first B Corp impact report detailing our progress and commitment to the B Corp movement and certification.

Our mission is to support individuals and organisations by offering training and the chance to connect on a human level, in order to help people stress less and smile more, and be as healthy and high performing as they can be.

At a time when it’s thought that 1 in 2 are burnt out and loneliness is at epidemic levels, we strive to create working environments where everyone feels (psychologically) safe and able to thrive.

2023 B Corp Impact Overview

In 2023, we achieved the following milestones. We positively impacted thousands of lives and continued to work towards broader societal and environmental goals.

Here’s a summary of our key impact:

  • 32 Organisations Supported
  • 5,000+ individuals trained
  • 120 Mental Health First Aiders Trained (overall we have trained 400+)
  • 9/10 Average Training Feedback Score
  • 9/10 Recommend Score

Training and Development

Our training programmes are tailored to address the pressing mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of people in the workplace.

We equip organisations with the tools necessary to create healthier, more supportive workspaces. In turn, we know this has a positive impact on the performance of individuals and the organisation.

Our consistent feedback score of 9/10 underscores the effectiveness and value of our training.

Sky UK is one example of a business that we have worked with over time.

Our Strategic Priorities

We recognise that we only have a limited circle of influence amongst the organisations and teams that we work with. That said, we believe in the ripple effects that even a small organisation can have.

If everyone that we come into contact with goes away and is a little more kind and tolerant of others, then the ripple effects will be felt beyond the training room.

To maximise our impact beyond our immediate network, we aim to make our services as accessible as possible, particularly for underserved communities.

1. Charity and Community Engagement

Our purpose extends beyond our immediate business goals. We are passionate about using our resources and expertise to support those who lack access to essential wellbeing services.

Discounted Training:

Offered to charity partners like Coram and The Disaster Emergency Committee, and other B Corp organisations.

Free Training Access:

Each of our quarterly Mental Health First Aid training sessions includes at least one free spot for someone who might not otherwise be able to afford and/or access the training.

Volunteering in the community:

Co-founder Sarah Mayo has been actively volunteering with Ruils, a Twickenham-based charity supporting individuals in the community with mental health challenges.

In 2024 co-founder Nicky Morgan has been actively volunteering for a local Reading Army supporting children in local schools to have access to 121 reading support.

Free Resources:

Available on our website and social channels, making mental health and wellbeing support widely accessible and helping educate people on ways to support themselves and each other better.

Our commitment to inclusion ensures that our impact is felt not only by those directly within our reach but also by the wider community, as the benefits of our training are passed on through our clients and their networks.

Free After-Care:

As part of our commitment to everyone we come into contact with in the training room we offer free after care as standard which includes access to quarterly facilitated MHFA Meet-Ups for our MHFA community, mentorship, emotional support and signposting.

2. Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity

We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture where every individual that we meet—whether client, employee, or partner—feels seen, heard, and valued.

Our human skills training focuses on this inclusivity, ensuring that every participant feels a sense of belonging and feels safe to contribute and learn, but they also take this learning into their interactions with others.

In addition, we are trying to widen the discussion around inclusion, diversity and equity, acknowledging the need there is still to help create more inclusive workplace cultures.

New Initiatives:

  • Inclusive Leadership Training: In collaboration with our DEI consultant Julia Edwards from Above Equality, we have recently piloted an inclusive leadership training programme with our charity partner Coram. This programme is part of our broader effort to embed inclusivity into leadership roles.
  • Raise Your Human Game Manager Training: Our newly launched two-day manager/leadership training programme incorporates principles of inclusive leadership at its heart, ensuring that our learners are equipped to lead teams with an inclusion mindset.

3. Minimising Environmental Impact

While we are an education-based training business, with minimal environmental impact through our business operations, we understand the importance of environmental accountability.

We have implemented the following policies and practices that minimise our environmental footprint at work and at home:

– Travel: Where possible we opt to travel to meetings and training by public transport.

– Hazardous Waste Disposal and Recycling Policy: Ensures that our operations are environmentally responsible.

– Sustainable Governance: Our policies are aligned with our core values, ensuring that our business practices support not just our clients but also the broader community and environment.

Our Values

We recently updated our values, so they are as relevant to us at this point in our business life-cycle as possible.

They are the principles that define our interactions, shape our training programmes, and drive our impact:

– Wholehearted: We pour our heart and soul into our work, committed to making a difference in every training session and interaction.

– Brave: We embrace the challenges of emotional and professional growth, helping ourselves and others to connect, understand, and thrive.

– Curious: We approach each situation with an open mind, always eager to learn and grow.

– Integrity: Our relationships are built on a foundation of honesty, trust, and mutual respect.

– Good Intentions: We believe in the power of good intentions to create positive change, and we aim to plant seeds of hope and empowerment wherever we go.

Leadership Update

In early 2024, we experienced a significant transition as co-founder Sion Stansfield decided to leave POINT3.

The company is now a wholly female-led organisation, with Nicky Morgan and Sarah Mayo continuing as co-founders.

Despite this shift, our mission remains the same: to help as many people as possible to stress less and smile more, with an even greater focus on human skills training.

Looking Forward

As we look to the future, POINT3 remains committed to expanding our impact, particularly in the areas of social inclusion and accessibility.

We are excited to build on the successes of 2023/4, continuing to deliver high-quality human skills training that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Our journey is one of continuous learning and growth, and we are eager to explore new ways to further our mission and amplify our impact beyond the training room.
