POINT3 Wellbeing – Inclusion, Diversity and Anti-racism statement

We founded POINT3 Wellbeing in early 2018 with the mission to help as many people as possible in the workplace to stress less and smile more.

Our purpose is to raise awareness, shift attitudes and change beliefs around mental health for all. Because we all have mental health, regardless of gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status, sexual orientation or disability.

The Institute of Psychiatry report that 9 out of 10 people who experience mental health problems say they face stigma and discrimination as a result and 60% said that the stigma and discrimination are as, or more, damaging than the symptoms of their mental health problem.

With 1 in 4 suffering from mental ill health over the course of a year prior to the pandemic and with the inevitable rise in stress that comes with such a global crisis, mental health awareness and interventions are essential for diversity and social inclusion, and to prevent burnout amongst workforces.

So, we’re for the 4 in 4. Because mental health does not discriminate. That said, we know that those experiencing prejudice, discrimination and isolation due to other identities based on gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status, sexual orientation or disability are more likely to suffer from mental ill health, due to the associated stress that comes from experiencing racism, as well as social and economic inequalities.

As a small, founder-run business, our pool of influence is growing, and we know that we have a long way to go and there’s a lot more that we can be doing in the areas of diversity and inclusion and anti-racism.

We believe awareness is the first step to change, so we continue to listen and learn and promote the conversation around prejudice and discrimination, particularly as it pertains to mental health. We do this through our workshops and mindfulness experiences, by developing others’ knowledge around mental health and social skills around empathy, compassion and acceptance, diversity and inclusion.

As part of our commitment to social inclusion, we have recently committed to become a ‘Certified B Corporation’ – one that balances purpose and profit. This certification legally requires our business to consider the impact of our decisions on our workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. We are only at the beginning of this journey, but this will provide the framework and governance for us to follow as we grow as a socially-responsible business, with the passion to be a force for good in the world.

The following values define who we are as people and as a business, how we work with our clients and partners, and the type of people and organisations we hope to attract to work with us:

Wholehearted – We put our heart and soul into everything we do.

Trust and Respect – The relationships we have with each other, our clients and the communities around us are anchored in trust and respect.

Meaningful Connections – We want all people to feel seen, heard and valued. When people feel comfortable being themselves, they truly feel belonging and can thrive.

Good Vibes – We believe in the ripple effects of good vibes and bring these whenever and wherever we can.

Curious and Curiouser – We remain ever-curious and look about us with an open-mind, sense of adventure, and a belief in a little bit of “magic”.
