Here are some of our favourite “I will” healthy habits to support your overall mental health:

I will…

  • Do 60 seconds of focused breathing
  • Check-in with myself – what’s the emotion I’m feeling right now?
  • Check-in with myself – what is my stress level on a scale of 1 – 10
  • Take a walk without my phone
  • Place my full awareness on a sound that captures my attention
  • Put my phone away
  • Turn off social media
  • Acknowledge one thing I’m grateful for today
  • Tell one person I care for them (and get the oxytocin hit for doing it!)
  • Say out loud my biggest fear today (and realise it maybe isn’t as big as I thought)
  • Journal
  • Do something nice for someone else
  • Do something nice for me
  • Listen to my favourite feel-good song
  • Accept the reality of this very moment
  • Look in the mirror and say hello to me
  • Doodle for 1 minute
  • Listen to my meditation app
  • Light a candle and watch the flame for 1 minute
  • Smile at a stranger

Remember, we’ve kept them purposely small. The key to forming a sustainable healthy habit is to get started and by keeping the habit as easy and as quick to do, you set yourself up for long-term success. The more you successfully maintain your habit, the easier it will become AND THEN, it will naturally build from there!
