POINT3 INSIGHTS 2025

2025 Leadership Survey Reveals What Today’s Leaders — and Their Teams — Really Need

POINT3 Wellbeing today (Monday 19 May 2025) launches its 2025 Leadership Survey Insights Report, a timely exploration into the rapidly shifting demands placed on leaders and managers — and the rising human cost of getting leadership wrong.

Drawing on quantitative and qualitative responses from over 50 senior and middle management professionals across the technology, marketing, and nonprofit sectors, the survey highlights the urgent and evolving priorities for leadership today.

Key findings reveal that leaders must urgently:

  • Invest in middle management training as a critical driver of organisational health.
  • Reskill and lead through disruption and change, especially in response to AI’s growing impact.
  • Create psychologically safe and emotionally supportive work environments.
  • Evolve leadership approaches to better support generational and neurodiverse needs.
  • Reaffirm commitment to DEI strategies, ensuring visibility and relevance amid shifting business priorities.

The top three traits cited for building healthy, high-performing teams were Trust, Communication, and Integrity — with Emotional Intelligence, Empathy, Accountability, Authenticity, and Recognition also scoring highly.

These findings affirm a resounding truth: Human-centric leadership isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s business-critical.

A Call to Action for Organisations

The demands of leadership are complex. But at its heart, effective leadership is about meeting the needs of those you lead.

To do this well — to meet the challenges and underlying fears your teams may be experiencing — today’s leaders need to level up their human skills.

This means developing a sense of connection, through:

  • Emotional intelligence to self-regulate and relate.
  • Communication and coaching skills to inspire and support.
  • Resilience to lead with calm and confidence through uncertainty.
  • Practical strategies to navigate complexity and ongoing change.

Because when leaders can truly connect with themselves — and with their teams — at a human level, the result is greater wellbeing, higher engagement, and stronger psychological safety.

And the business benefits speak for themselves: increased productivity and performance.

When people feel safe, seen, and understood, they thrive.

When they don’t, the cost is paid in burnout, disengagement — and declining business outcomes.

Insights Aligned with Gallup’s 2025 Global Workplace Report

To provide added value and global context, POINT3’s insights have been cross-referenced with Gallup’s 2025 State of the Global Workplace Report — the world’s most extensive annual study on employee engagement and wellbeing, based on responses from over 200,000 employees across 160+ countries.

In summary, Gallup calls on organisations to empower and invest in their managers — through training, coaching, and wellbeing support — as a key lever to unlocking a potential $9.6 trillion global productivity boost and to help rehumanise the workplace in an increasingly AI-driven world.
